Hello,
I usually buy a gallon of spring or purified water (whichever is available ) for my cockatiels but this time it seems they were all out and so my mom unknowingly bought this one below: https://www.walmart.com/ip/GERBER-1-GALLON/13448574
I don't want to give them something that I am not sure of even though I heard the thing where the toys that are for babies are ok for tiels. I just want to know for sure.
I don't know about the original poster, but in our area the water has a faint chlorine taste and smell even after being filtered. I used to give Joey tap water, but now I am concerned to risk it.
Birdboy, I think you will be okay with the Gerber. I buy my birds bottled water at Walmart and usually get the Nestle Pure Life. The Walmart brand of drinking water tastes funny to me. Tap water is fine too if you have a good municipal water source. Some towns down here in Texas have very hard water that is not fun to drink because it tastes so bad.
I go both ways. I give Ava only bottled water to drink but when I give her a bath I use the tap and she always end up drinking large amounts no matter how hard I try to not have her drink the water when I pour it on her (she hates spray bottles).
I used to give my birds purified water, cause the tap water we get here isn't safe to drink. You should always just give your birds the water you drink. I am pretty sure that this water is safe, although I never bought it before, so I don't really know.
