Default Outside harness?

Hey!

Spring is coming up thankfully!
Does anyone take their cockatiel outside? I've seen lots of videos of larger parrots on harnesses etc
We have a covered deck that I think he would love but need advice
Thanks

I used an aviator harness for my birds when I took them out. I believe the petite size is the right size for tiels.

I use the Aviator harness and the FlightSuit harness on my cockatiels.

Remember, wearing a harness is a TRAINED BEHAVIOR. If you try to force it you are just going to end up with a majorly terrified bird who flips out when he sees the Harness.

If you get the Aviator harness (which I highly suggest) watch the DVD before you even take the Harness out of the package.

The FlightSuit is a lot harder to train because instead of outing the Harness on the bird you basically have to put the bird into the harness.

In both cases your bird needs to be comfortable with being restrained and having their wings opened and closed by you before you even get the harness.
