I've had no luck changing my avatar, so I thought I would share a few pictures of my baby birdie here. Let's see if this works~!

She is beautiful; reminds me of my previous cockatiel. That is a very nice cage! I wish I had room for one that size! Thanks for sharing!

Pretty girl! Does she try to chew on the plant? My tiel bites leaves off of mine when she's out, and tries to eat the potting soil. I have to watch her very carefully!

tielbob, thank you! I think so (smile). I've been working on her cage, adding a bit of climbing things.

Janalee, thank you! I hope to move to a place where I can put something outside, SAFELY --- for her to hang out in when the weather is nice. Here in Southern California, it's nice a lot - I admit. But, it can be too hot at times.

moonchild, thank you! She landed on the plant once, when I had it set up lower. Her wings are clipped, so no way (I don't think) she can make it up there now without my help.

I researched, and this plant is safe - so if she does bite it - it will be OK. I don't have a very green thumb, so I doubt she can do more harm than I do.

Wow I think it would be nice to house a cockatiel outside! It would be so much more natural. Here in Northeastern PA is is too cool (or cold!) most of the year. Summer would be okay, but where I live we have
bears...coyotes...foxes...raccoons, any of which would enjoy a cockatiel snack. they could easily tear open most any kind of wire.

Aussie, Thank you! Me too.

Janalee, we are lucky on the weather - except for the really hot months of summer. We have lots of stray cats and I have seen opossums and raccoons.

If I ever do put her outside, it would need to be a very sturdy, large, safe cage. I sure wouldn't want to risk it! Like you, I think it would be really nice for her, and my boyfriend has an aviary and his birds are safe --- so I know it can be done.
