Hello. I just lost my 16 year house member (cockatiel) after he was eating his oat groats. He has been eating oat groats for many years and while he was eating them ,Saturday, May 26th, he started making a funny noise then like a squeal and then he was shaking his head and stuff was coming out. He then began panting real hard and then within 10 minutes while I was holding him, he suddenly died! I am miserable because he was like my kid. WHAT HAPPENED??? Does anybody know?
I am very sorry for your loss, that is really sad. Could he have choked? I am really not sure, but like said above, you can have a necropsy done to find out.
I am so sorry for your loss. Fly free little one...
