Default Moving

Hey All,

We are relocating in a week to Donegal, north west of Ireland. Hercules has been with us for 10 months now. She is very used to our current home and is really content.

Any advice on what we should expect from here on the 4 hours car journey and when we take her to her new home.

In our new home she will have more space to fly around, lots more places to hide, but less chance of accidentally getting out.

As we will have lots of room, we thought of using one room as an indoor avairy for her and maybe over time introducing new friends.

Any thoughts??

Joey absolutely hated our first move after he moved in with us. It was only a 20 minute drive, but he screamed the whole way.

The second time, his travel cage was smaller, but the bars were better for hanging a couple toys on, and he sang and chattered the whole 2 hour drive. We ended up moving back up this way 2 1/2 months later, and he positively loved it again.

Hubs sits in the back seat with him, to talk to him and keep him company. We keep the music low and the temperature comfortable for him. His water and food dishes are about 1/2 full, and we hang millet over his perch.

I think Joey would be fine without his dad sitting beside him, but it makes us feel better. If we need to stop, we leave the car running and just one of us goes in to buy drinks, or go in one at a time for a comfort break.
