I have a question about dog rope toys. I have seen some post that they have used dog rope toys for bird. My question is what should be the material? I wanna make sure it's okay to use I just bought a colored rope toy that is 70% polyester and 30% cotton is this okay to use? if not of course the dogs get it..
This forum is really wonderful and supportive and helpful! I have not posted before because our cockatiels were not long with us...
Sadly, our two baby cockatiels both died...our vet said the pet store should not have sold us babies that were not weined as we were not experienced enough for them and they were too fragile...we did our best but we obviously didn't know what we were getting ourselves into.
Our hearts are broken and we can't bear to adopt again.
I am wondering if anyone could suggest how I might sell or donate our bird related items. I reached out to a rescue online but never heard back, i posted on craigslist and no takers. I have two cages, two travelers, lots of food, toys, glass cages with heating pads, etc. I hate to throw them away-I paid $1000 for all of this stuff and our babies were only with us 2 and 4 weeks.
Any suggestions would be helpful. We live in Chicago. Most items too big to ship.
I'm so sorry about your cockatiels. I know how you feel. Last year on Valentine's Day my cockatiel died and i was devastated. The lady I got him from gave me someone else's bird, so we think that he was old, because he died within 7 months of us having him. I know it;s hard, but I would definitely recommend adopting again. It won't replace your other birds, but it will bring you joy. and whenever I feel like my new baby is taking my first bird's place, I know that my first bird loved me and would want me to pass that love onto another bird. I love my new bird, but my first bird still holds a special place in my heart.
I have a burning question to ask for anyone who has a manzanita branch table perch (or any wood branched perch). I want to put a feeding bowl in the top branches but I don't want to drill into the wood. Any ideas?
I've laid a wood ladder across the branches but even tied down it's not steady. I know someone clever has figured out something where you can put a treat cup or bowl?
